Cascade Clamp - Cascade Manufacturing Company was founded in Portland, Oregon in the year 1943. They started out as a small machine shop initially hiring 4 people. Sales for their initial year of operation amounted to about sixty thousand dollars. The first recorded sales revenues involved the machining and assembly of stainless-steel pipe fittings, valves and various components. Throughout 5 years of operation, the business had expanded to 40 staff and their annual sales volume had increased to 330 thousand dollars. At present, Cascade is one of the top worldwide makers within the material handling trade.
Production and design of the company's original hydraulic cylinder paved the way in Cascade's aggressive pursuit of new business possibilities. During the past 60 years, the material handling business has grown into a very sophisticated field and Cascade has proudly performed a part on this improvement. Cascade currently continues to develop as the leader supplier of forklift accessories and numerous related items. The business feels assured in their ability in order to continue to lead the way within the business by understanding customer's needs in the future and remaining competitive in the global market.
Throughout the 1950's, Cascade started to make, design, and advertise its hydraulic accessories. A brand new facility was made in the year 1956, in order to house all of the plant offices and operations in Portland, Oregon, which continues to be the company's current head office. Following fifteen years of business, total workers reached 180 employees and sales had reached almost $2,300,000.
1959 in Springfield, Odessa the next production plant was built. The year 1960 marked Cascade's preliminary move into the global world of the material handling industry when the company established interest in Australia, the Netherlands and England.
In the year 1964, the business changed its name to the Cascade Corporation. Then in 1965, the business went public with a preliminary offering of two hundred thousand shares of common stock. Since then the company has expanded its manufacturing services within the continental USA to the places Warner Robins Georgia to go along with its already existing plants in Portland, Oregon and Springfield, Odessa. Cascade merchandise are made worldwide due to lots of subsidiary operations. In the year 1944, a new plant was completed in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European headquarters. This facility is built to be the ultimate customer service centre.
Cascade further expanded their product base in 1996 and 1997 subsequent to acquiring five firms, which included the Kenhar Corporation, the global leader in forks.
